Well it seems our bear friends are back once again after the bird feeders.
Pack Monadnock Hike
•April 20, 2009 • Leave a CommentChris and I set off to do one of our favorite hikes here in NH. It’s not too far from our home so it’s convenient when we don’t want to take the long drive to other areas. The last time we were here was right before the big ice storm we had this past winter which we lost electricity for 12 days. Not fun let me tell you. Luckily we got our hands on a generator 7 days into it and now have it for the future.
We could not believe the devastation from the storm as you will see in some of the photos. What a shame. But what can be a cruel Mother Nature also is a nurturing Mother as she replaces everything over time. I guess it’s sort of like out with the old in with the new.
The Wapack Trail is quite a rocky ascent. It’s 1.4 miles from the parking lot, elevation of 2100 ft.

Bird Watching Anyone!
•April 15, 2009 • Leave a CommentI am an avid bird watcher. I usually get quite a variety at this time of year passing through. I haven’t seen much yet this year though. The Red Winged Blackbird is back and the Purple Finch and here is a Common Flicker. I get a lot of Woodpeckers, Chickadees, Nuthatches, Tufted Titmouse, Morning Doves and Goldfinches year round. The Goldfinches are back to their beautiful yellows. I usually see some Orioles, and a few other species in the spring. Let’s hope I do. Join me if you love bird watching. Show me your pics of what is in your neighborhood.

The Daffodils Are Out!
•April 15, 2009 • 1 CommentWell the daffodils are out which is a sure sign spring is here. Although I was a little worried this morning when they were all drooping over due to the frost outside. But they recovered nicely.

Eagles Live Cam
•April 13, 2009 • 2 CommentsFor all you nature lovers out there. I find this so unbelievable! I have a passion for the American Bald Eagle. When you see one in person close up they are just the most amazing bird. So powerful and beautiful. Here are a few live cams of nests. There are a few of them. They all have eggs in the nest. Some are due starting around the 23rd of April. And here is one of my favorite eagle shots I took.

•April 8, 2009 • Leave a CommentOldie but goodie. I just happened to find this old photo of our two precious dogs that have since past. They had very different personalities but they were both funny. We got so many smiles from both of them. They were smart too as you can see.
